What is a COB LED Display?
COB LED display stands for “Chip-on-Board” technology. It’s a new way of packaging LEDs, different from the traditional SMD method.
Instead of packaging each LED chip one by one, COB places bare LED chips directly onto the PCB board. These chips are fixed using conductive or non-conductive glue.
After placement, the chips are connected through wire bonding. Finally, everything is covered with protective resin to form a solid, flat light surface.
This method greatly reduces the space between pixels. It also improves durability, heat resistance, and display uniformity.
Compared to SMD, COB LED displays are more compact and less likely to be damaged. That’s why they’re popular in control rooms, studios, and retail displays where fine detail is essential.

How COB LED Displays Work
COB LED display uses a process where multiple LED chips are fixed directly onto a heat-conductive PCB. This setup removes the need for separate LED packaging. Each chip is bonded with wire, then covered with resin for protection. The sealed surface makes the screen smooth and resistant to damage.
